This talk will explore Sheridan's life and career from growing up in Somerset, Ohio, to his ascension to the command of the United States Army of the Shenandoah. It will look at his experiences in the Civil War and examine how he became the right man for the job to win the critical Valley Campaign which helped propel Lincoln to reelection and the Union to victory.
