Location: Kenosha Public Museum
Instructor: Kathy Laybourn
All supplies included. No experience necessary.
Have you ever made art by experimenting with melting crayons when you were a kid? This workshop is designed for anyone who would like to be introduced to the "cold wax" encaustic method. Students will learn to add a soft, beeswax mix into oil paint which is applied to an encaustic board and melted with a heat gun. Successive layers of paint can be built up and mixed media elements can also be added to the layers to create both representational and abstract pieces of art.
RAIN DATE: Because this is an outdoor class, it will be rescheduled to 08/23/25 in the event that it is raining or there is a high possibility of rain on the original date. All registrants will be contacted and notified if the class must be rescheduled.
Online sales end two days prior to class due to supply needs for the instructors, please call the Museums (262-653-4140) to inquire if registrations are still available.
