Civil War Baseball Camp

This event is no longer on sale.

Friday July 30

1:00 PM  –  3:30 PM

Location: Civil War Museum

Instructors: Mari Pavelich & Doug Dammann

In this one-day summer camp, children ages 10 to 14 will get the chance to play baseball as it was played during the Civil War Era. Campers will learn baseball terms and phrases from the time period as well as the rules that they played by. Then, we will complete pitching, fielding, and batting practice before heading out onto the field to play a game. Before they leave, campers will also be able to create their own baseball card to take home.

What to bring: Campers don't need to bring their own glove, Civil War-era baseball players didn't use them, so we won't either. The Museum will provide bats and balls. Campers should bring a water bottle and sunscreen.

What to wear: We will spend most of the camp outside, so wear weather-appropriate athletic clothing and gym shoes.

Class cancellations can happen if enrollment minimums are not met two days prior to the class. If your class is canceled you will be contacted via phone or email.
